A twenty-year resident of Coweta County, Jill Prouty grew up in an FAA family, moving seven times during her school years. She lived in Peachtree City from 1983-1987 and attended both Booth Jr. High (now Middle School) and McIntosh High School before moving to Raleigh, North Carolina where she finished high school. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Science in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
Jill returned to Georgia in 1998 after accepting the position of Library Technology and Training Manager at Peachtree City Library. She was promoted to Library Administrator in 2005 and celebrated 20 years with the City in 2018. During her time in Peachtree City, she led the city library through technology upgrades during the preparation for Y2K and a voter approved expansion and renovation to the facility in 2004-05. In 2008, Jill became part-owner of a Jersey Mike’s franchise and helped transform the store into one of the busiest in the state.
Jill celebrates 19 years of marriage with her husband, Scott, this year. They have three children. She enjoys reading, writing, and running.
